Katie’s holistic mind, body, spirit, community approach to Collective Liberation involves education, deep nervous system work, strength training, yoga, meditation, sound, and subconscious re-programming so that you can create body liberation, embody emotional freedom, and live in alignment with your spiritual venture.

Katie’s Spiritual Venture

The first 22 years of Katie’s life was spent navigating life growing up an undiagnosed neurodivergent person in a neurotypical world, carrying painful childhood trauma, and surviving multiple sexual assaults. She coped the only way she knew how with eating disorders and substance abuse. Depression and anxiety were the norm. Katie realized if she continued on her current path she wouldn’t make it to her 30’s. Her junior year at Virginia Tech she made the decision that something had to change. She began practicing yoga and meditation. She learned how to cook. She found movement practices like lifting weights, hiking, yoga, and dance that allowed her to honor her body rather than punish it. Twelve years- and several deaths and rebirths- later, it is her passion to share all she’s learned along her venture to support others like you to liberate your body after trauma, cultivate emotional freedom, and step into your dharma, or purpose, to move us all towards collective liberation.

Background and Training

Katie is a Yoga Facilitator, Sound Practitioner, Fitness Coach, and Liberation Guide. She has been facilitating group work since 2017 and has a deep passion for supporting others on their liberation journey. Katie’s education journey began at Virginia Tech where she received a B.S. in Human Development and a B.A. in Philosophy. Her own path of healing childhood and intergenerational trauma led her to Yin and Restorative yoga and she developed a profound appreciation for lifting weights as a means for creating safety and strength in the body while healing after an abusive relationship. With her thirst for knowledge Katie has acquired over 1,000 hours of certifications including her 500 ERYT, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yoga Wall for Happy Back, Trauma Awareness Yoga, Yoga for Kids, Success and Life Coaching, and is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer. Katie embodies her dharma in serving as a guide to facilitate Collective Liberation. She is the creatrix of Spiritual Ventures a community-based organization working to create decolonized spaces for body liberation including monthly Moon Ceremonies, Hiking and Yoga Club, Heart Openers: A Collective Liberation Book Club, Mini Retreats, and more.
